Welcome to Slappz! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Slappz mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Slappz ("we", "our", or "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Slappz, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Slappz is a social video platform that allows users to:
- Record and share short video clips ("slaps") responding to prompts
- Create and participate in video chains with friends or publicly
- View and interact with content created by other users
- Share chains via links to social media and messaging platforms
3. User Accounts
You may use Slappz anonymously or create an account with a display name. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. User Content
Your Content: You retain ownership of the videos and content you create ("User Content"). By posting User Content on Slappz, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and modify your User Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.
Content Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to post your User Content and that it does not violate any third party's rights.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Slappz to:
- Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Post content depicting violence against people or animals
- Post sexually explicit or pornographic content
- Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Post content that infringes on intellectual property rights
- Spam, advertise, or solicit without permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms at our sole discretion.
6. Content Moderation
We may (but are not obligated to) review, monitor, or remove User Content at our discretion. We are not responsible for any User Content posted by users. If you encounter content that violates these Terms, please report it to support@slappz.app.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Slappz and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party services (such as social media platforms for sharing). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of such services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLAPPZ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Slappz and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Slappz operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
